Grand Prix London attendees should be advised that the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be taking place on Friday, April 29 and may affect your travel. Be sure to make your hotel arrangements as early as possible in order to avoid difficulties.

Wizards of the Coast published the information for Grand Prix-Paris, part of Magic Weekend Paris. After it recently came to light that there would be no LCQ for the Pro Tour, another, albeit less monumental change, is being announced for the Grand Prix. Instead of open registration for the event on Saturday, players MUST register for the Grand Prix on either the Thursday or Friday preceding the event. From the official announcement:

Registration and Schedule

Thursday, February 10: Registration – 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Friday, February 11: Registration – 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

NOTE: There will be no Saturday morning registration for Grand Prix Paris. You must register during the days and times listed above. Be sure to register on Thursday or Friday to ensure your spot in the Grand Prix.

This is likely a precaution against the potentially gigantic crowd expected for the event (the last Pro Tour in Paris, the 2006 World Championships attracted thousands of fans to the Louvre) and what would lead to a gigantic sealed deck registration pool on Saturday morning. Based on Grand Prix attendance levels in Europe over the past few seasons, it's entirely reasonable Paris will easily break 2,000 competitors and will likely be the largest Magic tournament ever held.

Btw, GP Dortmund die gepland was tussen Parijs en Barcelona is weggevallen... Zomaar geschrapt... Wss door toedoen van de duitse fiscus, waarmee ze problemen hadden ivm prijzengeld...
They laugh at us,
because we are different,
We laugh at them,
because they are all the same.
